About Sue Akehurst Counselling services
I have worked in education and health for over 30 years, qualifying as a counsellor in 1998, and I have a broad experience of working with people of all ages and from many different backgrounds in Birmingham, Coventry and Worcestershire. My aim is to work in a way which values and respects the uniqueness of all the people I encounter and which takes your context and environment into account.
In addition to private practice, I worked as a counsellor in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health team & a GP practice for several years and continue to offer external supervision to many organisations. Furthermore, I’ve been offering person centred supervision since 2003. I’m supported by my ongoing practices of Tai Chi, Focusing, walking in nature and, more recently, running.
