Welcome! The photo above shows the room I mostly use for therapy and supervision at the Beacon clinic. It can sometimes feel nerve-wracking to be thinking about having counselling, so seeing what I look like and some photos of the inside of the clinic may help you feel a little less nervous about the whole thing.
Therapy in Malvern & the 3 counties
I'm an experienced counsellor & supervisor working within the Person-Centred tradition, particularly using Focusing alongside other creative ways of working. I've a lot of experience of working with adults and young people & have undertaken various additional trainings including EMDR therapy. I've found that working with compassionate understanding to support a deeper more embodied understanding of our responses to difficult situations is the most powerful and healing way of working for many people and can lead to deep change. I also believe that it is vtally important to acknowledge and understand the importance of our context and environment as we are all relational beings who are affected by our environment. I work from the principle that we all have innate potential for becoming unstuck and that there's always a possibility of listening to ourselves with greater compassion and self acceptance.
Availability I currently have a short waiting list for counselling.
I aim to create a safe, confidential, reflective and challenging space in which the work of therapy can take place. Therapy is about relationship, compasssion, authenticity, presence and the challenge of meeting another person as truthfully and openly as I can, with the foundation of ongoing training, years of experience and a commitment to working honestly, openly and with integrity.
I've also trained as a Focusing Practitioner, qualified to teach Focusing one-to-one, which supports and informs my work as a counsellor and supervisor. Focusing is a gentle way of listening to what we feel and sense inside our body. When attended to with kind curiosity, those vague sensations and impressions take shape and then shift, potentially revealing a new way forward from what might have felt like a very stuck place.
